台灣省政府昨天被占領，許多人都好奇「台灣政府」是什麼團體，主席蔡明法又是誰？

蔡明法五十八歲，台南關廟人，曾投入外貿生意，也很關心台灣的黨外運動。他長年住在美國，持用美國護照，最近才加入台灣健保。

蔡明法說，二次大戰後，根據舊金山和約，台灣並沒有交還中華民國，而是主權未定由美國託管；這次「進駐」中興新村，是要彰顯台灣人的主權。

「台灣政府」團體去年四月在美國成立，總部設在洛杉磯，主張台灣人自治、獨立建國。他們將台灣分成六州，還發行身分證、車牌，否定中華民國的統治權力，但對民進黨、獨派團體也不認同。

「台灣政府」常冠上「美國」字眼，常被誤以為該組織主張台灣屬美國一州。「台灣政府」屬政治組織，但未在內政部立案，去年八月在台中成立國內第一個分部，各地都有組織。
