HBL勁旅新榮高中是本季奪冠熱門，但季前經歷「換帥風暴」，預賽苦吞2連敗，27日終於靠著擊退屏東高中晉級，但，警報還未解除。

新榮前役敗給基隆商工，賽後前助理教練「紅猴」廖浚暉與球員苦口婆心，總算喚醒大夥兒氣勢，今以86：46輕取屏中，搶下A組最後一張十二強門票。

廖浚暉與轉戰高苑工商的田本玉執教新榮多年，這批球員都是兩人一手拉拔長大，但校方季前「空降」老教頭韓光雲領軍，球隊內部掀起嚴重風暴。

更「妙」的是，今天對屏中一役，新榮暫停時總是圍在坐在觀眾席的廖浚暉身邊，聽從前任教練的指示，形成罕見場面。

「昨天，高孟偉和杜思汗來找我，希望我能幫忙，其實我也很掙扎。」廖浚暉說。
