行政院長江宜樺因國民黨在九合一選舉慘敗，在11月29日晚間向馬英九總統請辭，並已獲准。今(1)日上午行政院將召開臨時院會提出總辭案，通過總辭後就進入「看守內閣」階段，不做重大政策決定，待總統宣布新任閣揆並交接。行政院總辭，包括江揆、副院長毛治國及各部會首長、政務次長都要提出辭呈，共有81名官員集體總辭。而在文化部長龍應台確定請辭後，教育部長吳思華呢？

吳思華對於內閣總辭後的去留一事，僅稱「假設性的問題不回答」。
