亞洲重要性提高教宗喜迎百萬信徒

羅馬天主教教宗方濟各到菲律賓訪問5天，這是他5個月來第2次走訪亞洲，顯示羅馬天主教會在歐洲和美國的支持度日益下滑之際，承認亞洲對羅馬天主教會越來越重要。

這是菲律賓第4次迎接教宗到訪，當地信徒狂喜接待教宗的盛況，鞏固菲律賓是天主教會在亞洲的模範生地位。

彌撒開始前，41歲杜巴亞（May Dupaya）因把雨衣借給母親，以黑色塑膠袋擋雨。她說：「我準備為教宗方濟各（Pope Francis）淋濕身體，我準備為方濟各生病。」

杜巴亞的18歲女兒身穿塑膠防雨布，偎依在她的身旁。

教宗方濟各在斯里蘭卡訪問2天後，15日抵達菲律賓，今天在馬尼拉黎薩公園（Rizal Park）舉行露天彌撒，吸引數百萬信眾前往。

彌撒開始前幾小時開始下起雨來，但是菲律賓人仍然風雨無阻，興高采烈地前往教宗方濟各彌撒現場。1030118
