遭極端組織「伊斯蘭國」(IS，前稱ISIL「伊拉克與黎凡特伊斯蘭國」)俘虜機師卡薩斯貝(Maaz al-Kassasbeh)，慘遭火刑處死，約旦隨即「血債血償」，絞死了女自殺炸彈客瑞夏維(Sajida al-Rishawi)等人，顯示了「以眼還眼」的態度，現在更傳出，約旦國王阿卜杜拉二世(King Abdullah II)準備親自參與與「伊斯蘭國」間的戰爭，原本就是空軍飛行員的他，將會親自駕駛戰鬥機，對「伊斯蘭國」進行轟炸。

多個國際媒體都引述了這個消息，阿卜杜拉二世日前重申，將要「給極端分子無情的打擊」，並對卡薩斯貝被「伊斯蘭國」殺害感到悲痛，「勇敢的飛行員為了國家和民族，獻出了自己的寶貴生命，約旦政府將授予他『烈士』稱號」，阿卜杜拉二世更號召所有約旦人務必團結一致。（於慶中／綜合外電報導）
