美國氣象學家斯考特‧斯蒂文斯日前指責美國航太總署向公眾隱瞞了許多由SOHO太陽軌道望遠鏡傳回地球的資料。

迷爾網據俄羅斯媒體報導，SOHO太陽軌道望遠鏡是一項由美國航太總署和歐洲太空總署實施的聯合研究計劃。目前，其所處位置距離地球約150萬公里，主要對太陽的爆發情況、太陽表面噴出物質和太陽附近的彗星進行拍照。

到現在為止，該望遠鏡拍攝的照片數量已高達數萬張，其中有一部分已經被公布在了NASA的網站上。然而，由於SOHO傳回的資料實在是太多，以至於專家們還來不及對其中的大部分照片進行研究。

當然，這種情況本身並沒有什麼可讓人感到奇怪的地方，畢竟，科學家們至今也未能對前蘇聯和美國探測器拍攝到的大量月球、火星和金星表面照片進行充分研究。

有關在SOHO的鏡頭中出現不明飛行物的消息早已不是什麼新鮮事，但NASA要嘛對其避而不談，要嘛就解釋說是數位圖像在傳回地球的過程中出現了差錯，才導致照片中出現奇特的物體。
